Challenge

An Australian retail and e-commerce group operating 50 restaurants worldwide wanted to cut reliance on third-party delivery aggregators and reclaim the customer relationship. Each property was managing orders manually, menus were slow to update across the network, and the customer experience felt generic.

They needed a unified delivery app purpose-built for their restaurant network – with personalisation features that the aggregators would not prioritise for them.

Approach

We shipped a custom delivery app with personalised menu and restaurant recommendations, real-time order tracking, integrated payments, and an analytics layer feeding back into demand forecasting for each location.

Recommendations are powered by a per-customer preference model tuned to the group’s catalogue and promotion calendar, and restaurant operators get a live feed of orders, prep times, and forecasted demand by daypart.

Outcome

Commission fees dropped 20–30% by handling orders in-house rather than through aggregators – a structural margin improvement across all 50 sites.

Repeat orders rose on the back of personalised recommendations, and customer engagement and loyalty lifted as the group regained direct access to its own order data.
