Choosing among the best data collection partners in Vietnam
Most lists of the best data collection partners in Vietnam turn out to be annotation lists. They rank companies by how many labelers they employ, which tells you little if your problem starts earlier, because nobody has recorded the data yet. A robotics team that needs 2,000 hours of kitchen manipulation footage is buying a collection program first and labeling second. So is a speech team that needs Vietnamese recorded in noisy street markets.
The scope here is wider than our video-only shortlist of Vietnamese vendors. Buyers now ask Vietnamese suppliers for egocentric video, teleoperation logs, conversational speech, medical images and multilingual text, sometimes inside one program. A partner for that work has to recruit people and run hardware. It also has to write a capture protocol and still deliver files your training code can read. Few data collection companies in Vietnam cover all of it, and the ones that do are organized in very different ways.
How to read this ranking
DataX Power publishes this ranking, and we put ourselves first. Read it the way you would read any comparison written by a vendor: use it for the criteria and for the map of who does what, then check the result with a pilot before you sign anything.
For the other four companies we relied on what each one publishes on its own website as of September 2026, plus open datasets it has released. We have not audited anyone else's delivery, and we left out revenue, headcount and client names. Firms known mainly for AI engineering or data platform work were not ranked, although several of them suit a data engineering brief. If a vendor below offers more than its site shows, that will come out in a scoping call.
We scored each company against five questions, weighted toward collection because it is the harder capability to find in the market:
- Does the vendor run capture itself, with its own participants, hardware, written protocol and consent records, or does it mainly label data the client already holds?
- Which modalities does it collect or label, across video, image, speech and audio, text and sensor data?
- How well does it handle robotics and physical AI work such as egocentric capture, multi-view video, teleoperation and synchronized sensor streams?
- What does its QA process look like, and can it deliver in the schema your pipeline already uses?
- Are pilot size, onboarding time and a route to production volume published, or at least offered on request?
1. DataX Power - managed real-world collection for robotics and physical AI
We are a Hanoi-headquartered AI company, founded in 2023, with a presence in Melbourne (Brighton, VIC). The business runs on three pillars: custom AI model development, data services, and infrastructure. Data services cover collection, annotation through our DataXanno arm, and validation. For the past two years our team has run hands-on data collection and processing for AI and robotics programs.
Our operating model is real-world footage. Sessions happen in real environments with real participants, and one team manages the program from brief to delivered dataset. Capture runs in four modes. Egocentric sessions use head-mounted rigs, Meta Aria and smart glasses at up to 4K/60fps, while third-person work uses multi-camera arrays. Robot manipulation views come from wrist and overhead cameras synchronized with force/torque data, and the fourth mode is mobile navigation video. We run stereo camera egocentric collection and multi-camera video collection for robotics training, either onsite or in a studio when a program needs control, or crowdsourced when it needs many more locations and participants.
On volume, we have executed more than 100,000 collection hours. Onboarding takes about two weeks, a pilot specification arrives within 5 business days, and one contract can run from a 100-hour pilot up to a 50,000-hour program. Participant networks sit in Vietnam, Thailand, Singapore and Malaysia, and QA engineers trained on robotics video review the footage before it ships.
We are the right call when recording is the hard part: robotics and embodied AI teams that need footage from real Southeast Asian environments with synchronized views, run by one accountable team. Our published capture modes center on video and synchronized sensor data, so a program that is mostly speech or text should also look at the vendors further down this list. 2. FPT Software - enterprise data processing inside a large IT services group
FPT Software is the software and IT services arm of FPT Corporation, and its data work sits inside a broad catalog. Its business process outsourcing page lists AI and data science support that includes image processing and annotation. The same page describes more than ten years of data processing work, with operations teams working in Japanese, English, Chinese, Bahasa, Thai and Vietnamese. FPT also sells akaDoc, a tool for extracting content from scanned documents, and offers annotation of document data points to train those extraction models.
Its advantages come from size and breadth. Large buyers can often contract through procurement channels they already use with FPT, operations teams cover several Asian languages, and data work can be bundled into a wider software engagement. For multilingual text, document or image programs, that combination is hard for a smaller vendor to match.
Breadth of focus is the fit consideration here. FPT's public pages present annotation and data processing as part of its BPO and AI services, and we did not find a dedicated service for field collection with recruited participants and camera rigs. If your program needs new recordings, ask FPT to walk you through a comparable collection program in operational detail. FPT Software suits enterprises that want AI data work under an existing FPT relationship, and multilingual programs where volume and governance count for more than capture specialism.
3. VinBigData - research-led data work with medical imaging depth
VinBigData is the big data and AI subsidiary of Vingroup. Its commercial focus is AI products, including the VinBase generative AI platform and the Vizone image analysis suite, and its best-known data work is in medical imaging. The VinDr-CXR dataset it released holds 18,000 chest X-rays annotated by 17 experienced radiologists using 22 local labels and 6 global labels. It also open-sourced VinDr Lab, a DICOM annotation platform that supports blind or open review workflows.
That record is directly relevant to medical AI: the VinDr work shows a team that has organized specialist reviewers across a large clinical image set and built its own annotation tooling for them.
Positioning is what to weigh. VinBigData presents itself as a product and research company, and its site does not describe a general collection service for outside robotics or speech programs. Teams building medical imaging models, or looking for a partner with Vietnamese research depth, should ask directly whether it takes on external data programs and on what terms. For general robotics footage, a vendor with a published collection service matches the brief more closely.
4. DIGI-TEXX - image and video annotation from a German-invested BPO
DIGI-TEXX describes itself as the first 100% German-invested business process outsourcing and digital services company in Vietnam, operating since 2003 with operation centers in Ho Chi Minh City and Can Tho. Most of its catalog is document work: scanning, data entry, invoice processing and OCR extraction through its own DIGI-Xtract tool. The data annotation service sits next to that work. For images and video, the published label types run to 2D and 3D bounding boxes, polygons, cuboids and key points, along with semantic segmentation. Video work includes frame-by-frame tracking of moving objects, text work covers sentiment analysis and semantic annotation, and the service also offers transcription.
Cuboids, key points and frame-level tracking are label types that perception teams ask for, which puts DIGI-TEXX closer to computer vision work than a pure document shop would be. The site lists more than 30 processing languages. It describes in-house annotators backed by an on-demand crowd, and says it combines AI tools with specialist reviewers and a quality control team. It also cites ISO 27001 certification with GDPR compliance, plus ISO 9001 for quality management, which can shorten the security review for buyers sending data offshore.
For a collection buyer, the fit consideration is that DIGI-TEXX's pages describe labeling, and we did not find a managed field collection service that recruits participants and runs capture hardware. Its listed industries include automotive and construction, so if your program involves robot or sensor data, ask for a comparable project and a sample labeled to your spec. DIGI-TEXX suits teams that already hold image or video data and need 2D or 3D labels at volume under certified security controls. In a split program it can take the labeling side while a collection partner records the data.
5. BPO.MP - annotation-first outsourcing from a Vietnam-Japan joint venture
BPO.MP describes itself as the first business process outsourcing company in Vietnam built on a Vietnam-Japan joint venture model. Its catalog is built around document digitization and data entry, with image processing and document labeling alongside. The data annotation service labels image and text data as well as video and audio for AI training, with a double-check QA process before delivery.
For buyers who already hold their raw data, that is a sensible profile. A BPO built on document and data entry work is set up for well-specified labeling at volume, and the Vietnam-Japan structure may count in its favor with Japanese clients.
The fit consideration is its annotation-first positioning. BPO.MP's pages describe labeling, and we did not find a managed field collection service with participant recruitment or capture hardware. It belongs on a shortlist when the job is labeling an archive you already have, especially text, document or image work. It can also be the second vendor in a split, where one partner collects in the field and another labels at volume.
The five data collection companies in Vietnam compared
The table applies the same five criteria. Where a vendor's site does not describe a capability, we mark it for confirmation during scoping instead of assuming it is missing.

How to choose between them
Start with where your data comes from. If it does not exist yet, you need a vendor that recruits participants and runs hardware, and on this list DataX Power is the one that publishes a managed field collection service. If you already hold it, the decision turns on labeling quality and cost, and FPT Software, DIGI-TEXX or BPO.MP may cover what you need. Medical imaging is a separate case, and VinBigData's VinDr record makes it worth a call.
Next, match your modality to each vendor's published work. Video-heavy robotics programs built on egocentric and multi-view capture sit closest to what we do. For LiDAR, radar or other sensor types, confirm published capability with any vendor, us included, and ask for a sample labeled to your spec before you commit. Multilingual document and text work fits a large BPO operation, and cuboid labeling of images or video you already hold is on DIGI-TEXX's published menu.
Whichever two you shortlist, run the same paid pilot with both against one written spec, and judge them on the delivered files. A 100-hour pilot tells you more about how a vendor sets up rigs and briefs participants than any capability statement, ours included.

See Southeast Asia data collectionFrequently asked questions
These are the questions buyers raise most often when comparing AI data collection partners in Vietnam.
- What are the best data collection partners in Vietnam for AI in 2026?
- On our criteria, the top five are DataX Power, FPT Software, VinBigData, DIGI-TEXX and BPO.MP, in that order. DataX Power is the one that runs managed collection for robotics and physical AI. FPT Software, DIGI-TEXX and BPO.MP fit labeling and data processing at volume, and VinBigData is strongest in medical imaging. Because DataX Power publishes this ranking, confirm it with a pilot.
- What is the difference between a data collection partner and an annotation vendor?
- A data collection partner creates the raw data. It recruits participants and supplies the hardware, then writes the capture protocol and records consent. Before delivery it checks every recording against that protocol. An annotation vendor labels data that already exists. Many Vietnamese firms do the second well, and fewer run the first, which is why this ranking weights capture ownership most heavily.
- Which Vietnam vendors can collect robotics and physical AI data?
- Of the five companies on this list, only DataX Power publishes a robotics-specific collection service. It captures egocentric video on head-mounted rigs and smart glasses such as Meta Aria, and also records multi-camera, robot manipulation and mobile navigation video. The other four publish annotation, data processing or medical imaging work. Whichever vendor you consider for robotics capture, ask for a sample session recorded to your own spec.
- How long does it take to start a data collection program in Vietnam?
- It depends on the vendor and the scope. At DataX Power, a pilot specification is ready within 5 business days and onboarding takes about two weeks, with pilots starting at 100 hours. The other vendors on this list do not publish timelines, so ask each for a dated plan from spec sign-off to first delivery.
- Should I use one data collection partner or two?
- One partner is simpler when the same team collects and labels: QA criteria and file formats stay consistent from capture to delivery. A split can work for large programs, with one vendor collecting in the field and an annotation-first vendor labeling at volume. If you split, write one spec that both vendors sign so the handoff files match what the labeling team expects.
